Dr. Zaliha says Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya are ready to host important talks as Asean chairmanship positions

As part of Malaysia’s ASEAN Chairmanship this year, Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya are ready to host the 180 important talks that are planned to take place in both federal territories.

Dr. Zaliha Mustafa, Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Federal Territories), said that preparations include many important things, such as public health, emergency readiness, community management, and security.

“Preparatory steps include tighter controls on security through close cooperation between law enforcement agencies and stronger protections for public health to lower any health risks that might cause problems at the event.”

“Social issues will be addressed effectively through proactive approaches, while disaster preparedness has been bolstered with regular simulation exercises and a more efficient and responsive early warning system,” she said in a post on Monday (Jan 6).

She was in charge of the Federal Territories Security Committee (JKKN) meeting earlier, where they talked about how ready the Federal Territories are to make sure the events go smoothly.

She also asked everyone, including communities and non-governmental organizations, to fully support and work together to make the ASEAN Chairmanship a new standard for hosting foreign events.
