Israeli strikes kill at least two medics in south Lebanon: Health Ministry
According to the Lebanese Health Ministry, Israeli attacks on villages in southern Lebanon have resulted in the deaths of at least two doctors. This comes as the occupying government continues its brutal attacks on the country.
The Israeli raids on Saturday targeted an emergency response team in the southern town of Kfar Tebnit, according to the ministry. The raids claimed the life of one doctor, injured four others, and left two more missing. An Israeli attack on the town of Borj Rahal in the Tyre District, south of Lebanon, also killed another doctor, the report said.At the same time, Israeli warplanes have attacked the Haret Hreik area in the southern suburbs of Beirut, the capital of Lebanon.
Not long before the attack, the Israeli forces sent out an order for all the people living in the area to leave right away. A spokesman for the Israeli military, Avichay Adraee, showed a map with red buildings marked for attack. He said that these buildings are close to the facilities and interests of the Lebanese resistance movement Hezbollah.
“You must immediately leave these buildings and the ones next to them, keeping at least 500 meters between you and them,” he said.
The latest airstrikes happened a day after the Israeli government used rockets to attack the southern parts of Beirut, hitting the neighborhoods of Tayyouneh, Ghobeiry, and Bourj al-Barajneh, damaging many buildings.
Israel attacked Lebanon from the ground and the air in late September after firing across the border with Lebanon for a year during the Gaza war. For the past year, Israel has killed at least 3,287 people in Lebanon. Most of those deaths happened in the last seven weeks.
14,222 people, primarily women and children, have suffered injuries. In reaction to the ongoing aggression, Hezbollah, the Lebanese resistance movement, has launched hundreds of attacks against the occupied Palestinian territories and Israeli forces that are trying to move into southern Lebanon. The movement has promised to keep up the strikes until the government stops making things worse.
