Israeli strike kills 14 civilians at Gaza UNRWA school
More Palestinian civilians are dying in Gaza because of the US-Israeli genocide. This is due to the ongoing attacks by the Tel Aviv government on the blockaded area. Israeli forces attacked a UN-run school in the Shati refugee camp on Thursday, according to Palestinian rescue workers.
The attack killed at least 14 people and hurt dozens more. An explosion rocked the apartment building in Gaza City’s al-Daraj neighborhood. Israel has attacked schools all over the Gaza Strip from the air many times. Hundreds of thousands of Palestinians forced to flee their homes due to fighting have sought refuge in these buildings.
The UN reported in September that approximately 85% of Gaza’s schools had suffered damage or destruction. The UN organization that aids Palestinian refugees reported that attacks have targeted 70% of its schools. The Israeli forces destroyed the majority of the buildings, public facilities, and infrastructure in the eastern part of the Gaza Strip. People are now congregating in any open space, such as schools that remain open, where displaced families can still reside.
At the same time, Israel bombed a house in the al-Tahlia area, which is close to Khan Yunis. Attacks in northern Gaza claimed the lives of several dozen people. The attacks happened in a number of different places. This year, Israeli strikes have targeted the north for more than a month.
The government has put a siege on the area, which makes the already terrible situation for people there even worse. Officials in Gaza say that about 80,000 people are stuck in the north and have no food or drugs. Israel has killed over 43,400 Palestinians and injured over 102,500 since it started its genocide operation in Gaza.
