Israel has signed a deal to buy more than twenty next-generation F-15 fighter jets from the US aviation giant Boeing. Israel is still attacking both the besieged Gaza Strip and Lebanon.

Congress and the executive branch of the US government passed a larger package of US aid to the occupation regime earlier this year, which includes the $5.2 billion deal. In a statement on Thursday, the Israeli government’s ministry for military affairs announced the signing of an agreement to purchase 25 next-generation F-15 fighter jets from Boeing.

The plane will have a longer range and be able to carry more, according to the statement. It will also have weapons systems that work with current Israeli weapons. The ministry says that the new planes will help the air force “maintain its strategic superiority in addressing current and future challenges in the Middle East.

” The ministry’s director general, Eyal Zamir, said that since October of last year, when the Israeli government started its campaign of killing and destroying Palestinians in Gaza, it has signed deals worth almost $40 billion to buy things. Zamir said that Israel’s “air power and strategic reach” have been “crucial.

” These have been shown in attacks on a mostly civilian population trapped in the besieged Palestinian area. Israel said at the end of September that it had gotten a new $8.7 billion package of US military aid. Israel’s air force has been hitting people in Gaza and Lebanon over and over again since October of last year.

In the past few months, Western countries have continued to send weapons to Israel. The US, Germany, Britain, France, and a few other Western countries primarily send arms that can kill Israelis. A study by the Stockholm Foreign Peace Research Institute (SIPRI) on foreign arms transfers found that 69% of Israel’s arms purchases in 2023 came from the US.

Germany contributed 30%, which was the second highest amount. Other small countries that helped were the UK, France, and Spain. In a recent letter, more than 50 countries asked the UN to put an arms ban on Israel.

This is because the Israeli government is continuing its campaign of killing and destroying people in the besieged Gaza Strip. Previously, over 100 journalists petitioned the US to cease arms sales to Israel due to the deaths of Palestinian reporters and media workers during Israel’s months-long assault on the isolated Gaza Strip. Israeli forces attacked Gaza on October 7, 2023, after the Palestinian resistance group Hamas began Operation Al-Aqsa Storm against the occupying force.

This was in reaction to the Israeli government’s decades-long campaign of killing and destroying Palestinians. The regime’s year-long attack on Gaza has killed more than 43,400 Palestinians. After talking with the rebel group Hezbollah across the border for almost a year about the war in Gaza, Israel has been attacking Lebanon hard from the air and the ground since late September. Israeli attacks have killed more than 3,000 Lebanese since the beginning of October.
