KUALA LUMPUR: Public sector employees in the implementing group are expected to receive salary increases of up to 42.7 percent through the Public Service Remuneration System (SSPA).

According to Berita Harian, Communication Minister Fahmi Fadzil clarified that a general overview of the salary increases for public employees will be available starting next week.

“As previously mentioned, the guidelines related to the salary increases for public employees will begin to be distributed next week,” he said.

Thus, he added that starting next week, a general overview will be provided regarding the salary increases for public employees, expected to range from 15 to 42.7 percent.

“This increase is the highest for the implementing group, while for positions such as the Chief Secretary (KSU) and Director-General, the increase will be more moderate,” he said during a post-Cabinet meeting press conference today.

Fahmi said that during the Cabinet meeting, the Cabinet was reminded of the financial implications of the salary increases for public employees.

He noted that these financial implications will not only be discussed in the Cabinet meeting but also addressed in the 2025 Budget to be presented in Parliament on October 18.

“Therefore, details, especially regarding the amount to be allocated for salary increases, will be available in the 2025 Budget document.

“This is a MADANI Government effort to ensure that public employees can enjoy salary increases,” he said.

Meanwhile, Fahmi reported that the Ministry of Human Resources (KESUMA) is continuing its efforts to register companies interested in participating in the progressive salary policy program.

He stated that if any private companies have not yet registered and wish to do so, they can contact KESUMA.

“So, we see that the MADANI Government’s efforts are not only to increase the salaries of public employees but also to help the private sector improve or increase the incomes and salaries of private employees,” he said.
