Sultan Ibrahim declares to carry out duties honestly, sincerely, and fairly

KUALA LUMPUR: Yang di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Ibrahim, today declared that he will carry out the responsibilities entrusted to him honestly, sincerely, and fairly, with full consideration for all the people.

According to Bernama, His Majesty’s statement is to safeguard the well-being and sovereignty of the nation.

“First, I wish to express my deepest gratitude to His Majesty the Malay Rulers who have placed their trust and honor in me to assume the responsibility and role of the head of state.

“God willing, I will perform the entrusted duties with honesty and sincerity, and govern with fairness, justice, and compassion towards all the people, in order to maintain the well-being and sovereignty of the country,” said Sultan Ibrahim during the coronation ceremony of the 17th Yang di-Pertuan Agong at the National Palace today.

At the same time, Sultan Ibrahim expressed hope that the government will continue its efforts to alleviate the people’s burden and advance the country to greater progress and prosperity.

Meanwhile, Sultan Ibrahim also expressed appreciation for the presence of Sultan of Brunei, Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah, and his wife, Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Saleha.

His Majesty also extended his thanks to the King of Bahrain, Sheikh Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, for attending the coronation ceremony, which signifies the close relationship between the two countries.

“I also extend my deepest gratitude to all the Malay Rulers and their representatives who have attended this event. I would like to thank everyone present here and those who sent their congratulations and prayers on the occasion of my coronation as Yang di-Pertuan Agong today,” Sultan Ibrahim said.

He also expressed appreciation to all those involved in making the coronation ceremony today and the associated events successful.

“In conclusion, let us pray to Allah SWT that Malaysia will continue to advance and prosper, and that all its people will remain united, peaceful, and happy,” His Majesty declared.

Sultan Ibrahim was crowned as the 17th Yang di-Pertuan Agong in a traditional and ceremonial event at the Balairung Seri of the National Palace, marking another historic and significant moment for Malaysia.

Sultan Ibrahim took the oath and signed the oath of office as the Seri Paduka Baginda Yang di-Pertuan Agong on January 31.
