KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim yesterday spent time meeting with famous Indian actor Kamal Haasan, who is currently in Malaysia to promote the movie ‘Indian 2’.
“In between official assignments, I had time to spend time with India’s famous artist and ‘superstar’, Kamal Haasan.
“The 30-minute opportunity was used to talk and exchange views related to the film industry, including strictness against corruption,” he said in a post on Facebook.
Reported Harian News, Kamal, 70, is in the national capital to promote the film ‘Indian 2’, which is the sequel to his 1996 blockbuster ‘Indian’.
The film ‘Indian’, released in 1996, features Kamal as a freedom fighter rebelling against corruption in India thus creating a conflict with his son who is involved in corrupt practices.
The film became the highest-grossing Tamil film upon release, and was India’s entry for Best Foreign Language Film at the Academy Awards in 1996, although it did not receive a nomination.
