Attorney General Seeks Audience With King

PETALING JAYA: The Attorney General today sought royal consent for an audience with the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Sultan Ibrahim.

The Prime Minister’s Office said the request was intended to seek His Majesty’s forgiveness and express the Attorney General’s commitment to complying with His Majesty’s decree concerning the Conditional Pardon Order granted to Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak in the SRC International case.

“The Attorney General will also clarify the legal questions arising from the High Court’s Release Order following the payment of the RM50 million fine, which must be determined by the court as they affect the commencement date of the prison sentence in the 1MDB case,” the office said in a statement today.
