Actor Cico Harahap Passes Away
KUALA LUMPUR: Actor Cico Harahap, whose full name was Ezzaq Farrouq Harahap Jamaludin, has been confirmed dead after experiencing breathing difficulties and being admitted to Ampang Hospital last week.
He passed away at 11am today at Ampang Hospital.
Sandakiah Azez, daughter of the late legendary entertainer Datuk Aziz, said when contacted that Cico had earlier complained of breathing difficulties to his mother, veteran singer Uji Rashid, before being admitted to Ampang Hospital last Sunday.
“I was previously informed by Kak Uji that Cico had been unwell for some time.
“On the day of the incident, Cico was taken to hospital, and we were informed that he had been admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU),” she said.
His remains are expected to be buried at the Ukay Perdana Muslim Cemetery once arrangements at the hospital have been completed.
Cico was the son of renowned Malaysian singer Uji Rashid and had also made a name for himself in the entertainment industry through acting.
He began his acting career around 1993 with the film Kekasih Awal dan Akhir, before gaining wider recognition through the television drama series Puteri Impian in the late 1990s.
Throughout his career in the entertainment industry, Cico also appeared in several films, including Anak Mami and Anak Mami Telah Kembali, reflecting his involvement in the development of the local film industry.
He also gained acting experience through several other productions, including the 2016 film Operation Mekong.
As the son of Uji Rashid, Cico also attracted the attention of local entertainment fans, having inherited his mother’s interest in the entertainment industry.
