Thunderstorms, Heavy Rain Forecast in 10 States Until 8 PM
KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a warning of thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds in 10 states until 8 pm today.
MetMalaysia said in a statement that the severe weather is expected to affect Perlis, Kedah and parts of Penang, namely Seberang Perai Tengah, Seberang Perai Utara and Seberang Perai Selatan.
The same warning was issued for Selangor, covering Hulu Selangor, Sabak Bernam, Kuala Selangor, Petaling and Klang, while in Johor, the affected areas are Batu Pahat, Muar, Tangkak and Kluang.
In Perak, the affected areas are Hulu Perak, Kuala Kangsar, Kinta, Kampar, Muallim, Batang Padang, Larut Matang, Selama, Kerian, Perak Tengah, Hilir Perak and Bagan Datuk.
In Terengganu, the severe weather is expected to affect Besut, Hulu Terengganu, Setiu and Dungun, while the affected areas in Kelantan are Kuala Krai, Jeli, Tanah Merah, Machang, Pasir Mas, Tumpat, Kota Bharu, Pasir Puteh and Bachok.
Similar weather conditions are also expected in Sabah, affecting the West Coast (Ranau, Papar, Penampang, Tuaran and Kota Kinabalu), Interior (Tambunan, Membakut, Pensiangan and Keningau), Tawau (Kalabakan) and Sandakan (Tongod).
Meanwhile, in Sarawak, the affected areas are Sri Aman (Lubok Antu), Sarikei, Betong, Mukah (Tanjung Manis), Samarahan (Asajaya and Sebuyau), Miri (Marudi and Telang Usan) and Kapit (Belaga).
