Immediate approval for complete SKDS applications, said KPDN
KUALA LUMPUR: The Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN) will give immediate approval for the complete application for the Subsidized Diesel Control System (SKDS) which covers 33 types of public land transport and goods.
According to Astro Awani, the KPDN said the application process is easy and fast because the company only needs to fill in limited information and verification can be done immediately through integration with the Road Transport Department (JPJ) system.
“The application can be made through the link https://mysubsidi.kpdn.gov.my/ and an approval letter will be issued immediately to enable successful transport companies to continue applying for fleet cards to selected oil companies through the same system.
“Accordingly, companies listed in 33 types of public land transport and qualified goods are advised to apply immediately.
“The approval obtained until June 30 allows the transport company to apply for reimbursement of the expense rate on the subsidy price through proof of purchase receipt until the transport company receives a fleet card from the selected oil companies,” he said in a statement.
“If there is misuse of the fleet card by irresponsible parties, the KPDN will not hesitate to take strict action including withdrawing the fleet card approval of the vehicle involved.
“As of 8 am, June 23, the total number of public transport vehicles and goods approved for diesel subsidy under SKDS is 226,957 involving 75,541 companies,” he said.
In addition, KPDN said that it is coordinating the appeals of certain transport sectors that want to participate in SKDS to be taken to the Appeals Committee involving various ministries and agencies and then taken up for consideration by the Cabinet of Ministers.
“The ministry would also like to insist that all traders, especially those who receive diesel subsidy facilities through the fleet card, do not increase prices by giving reasons for setting new diesel prices as the reason for the increase in the price of their goods or services.
“KPDN has mobilized all the forces of enforcement officers and price monitoring officers throughout the country to continue to monitor the price of goods or services at all levels of the chain.
“If it is found that there is profiteering activity, then KPDN will take strict action under the Price Control and Antiprofiteering Act (AKHAP) 2011,” he said.
KPDN also appreciates the cooperation that has been given by ethical traders who do not engage in profiteering activities or raise prices arbitrarily in line with the setting of new diesel prices in the market.
