Two State Assemblymen Confirm Receiving Letters Revoking Negeri Sembilan EXCO Appointments

SEREMBAN: Gemencheh State Assemblyman Suhaimizan Bizar and Serting State Assemblyman Mohd Fairuz Mohd Isa are among the Negeri Sembilan State Executive Council (EXCO) members who have confirmed receiving letters notifying them of the revocation of their appointments.

Suhaimizan, who chaired the State Action Committee on Health, Unity, Information, National Integration and Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs), said he received the notification yesterday.

“Yes, I received the letter yesterday, but I cannot comment further at this time,” he told Bernama when contacted today.

Fairuz, who chaired the State Action Committee on Entrepreneurship, Human Resources, Climate Change, Cooperatives and Consumer Affairs, gave a similar response.

According to a statement issued last night by the Comptroller of the Royal Household of Istana Negeri Sembilan, Datuk Azizi Mohamad Ali, Yang di-Pertuan Besar of Negeri Sembilan Tuanku Muhriz Tuanku Munawir had revoked the appointments of the State Executive Council members with immediate effect.

The statement said the decision was made after it was found that all the EXCO members concerned had breached their oaths of office.

Azizi said that under Article XXXVIII(5) of the Laws of the Constitution of Negeri Sembilan 1959, a member of the State Executive Council holds office at the pleasure of the Yang di-Pertuan Besar.

The members had each taken their oath and signed a pledge of allegiance on Aug 7 before being appointed to the Negeri Sembilan State Executive Council.
