H1 Bid Reaches RM10.7 Million in H-Series Registration Number Auction

SHAH ALAM: The H1 registration number recorded a bid of up to RM10.7 million in the H-series vehicle registration number auction introduced by the Road Transport Department (JPJ).

Bidding for the H1 to H9999 series was conducted through the JPJeBid system from Sept 16 to 20, with the results announced on Sept 21.

The figure was shared by social media users, many of whom expressed surprise at the value of the bid.

The H series was introduced in conjunction with Malaysia Day and is the final special registration number series using a single letter to be offered by JPJ.

The letter H was chosen to symbolise the word “harmony”, in line with the message of unity and harmony associated with the Malaysia Day celebration.

JPJ Director-General Datuk Aedy Fadly Ramli was previously reported as saying that the letter H was chosen because it is synonymous with “harmony”, symbolising harmony within society and the nation in conjunction with Malaysia Day.

He said that after the H series, JPJ would no longer offer special registration numbers using a single letter.
