10GB Free Internet Data in Conjunction With National Day and Malaysia Day 2026 – Fahmi
PUTRAJAYA: The Ministry of Communications, in collaboration with five telecommunications service providers, will offer free internet data through the RAHMAH Rebate Incentive in conjunction with the 2026 National Day and Malaysia Day (HKHM) celebration.
Communications Minister, Datuk Seri Fahmi Fadzil, said the initiative is implemented through strategic collaboration with CelcomDigi, Maxis, TM, U Mobile and YES.
Through this initiative, he said, all eligible prepaid and postpaid service users among Malaysians will enjoy 10GB of free internet data.
“A total of 5GB of free data will be given on National Day, August 31, 2026, while another 5GB will be given on Malaysia Day, September 16, 2026.
“The method and redemption period for this free internet data will be detailed by the telecommunications companies, subject to the terms and conditions set,” he said when speaking at the Handover Ceremony of Sponsorship Contributions for the 2026 National Day and Malaysia Day (HKHM) Celebration here, today.
Elaborating further, Fahmi said, frequently asked questions (FAQ) regarding the initiative will also be uploaded on the Ministry of Communications website in the near future.
Meanwhile, Fahmi announced that the total value of sponsorships for HKHM 2026 confirmed by the Ministry of Communications Sponsorship Committee to date is RM48.63 million.
Of that total, he said, RM2.7 million is in the form of cash contributions, while RM45.93 million is in the form of goods and services.
“This total records a very encouraging increase of more than 118 percent compared to last year, which was RM22.3 million.
“Based on the total sponsorship value, 50 percent is in the form of promotion, 30 percent is in the form of goods to be given to visitors, while the remaining 20 percent is sponsorship to the committees involved in organising HKHM 2026,” he said.
