The news anchor from Astro Arena received a donation from the PM

KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim presented a donation to Astro Arena news anchor Akbar Sahari who was tested by his wife’s health problems.

According to Bernama, the donation was presented by the Prime Minister’s Political Secretary, Ahmad Farhan Fauzi who visited Akbar and his wife Noorsuzilawati Noor, who suffered from stage four colon cancer at a hospital here yesterday.

“I pray for Akbar and his family to be patient in going through the trials and that his wife will be given the strength to fight this disease, God willing,” Anwar said in a status posted on Facebook today.

Meanwhile, Akbar through a status on his Facebook account thanked for the donation and admitted to being surprised by the presence of a delegation from the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) led by Ahmad Farhan.

Also visiting were the Prime Minister’s Press Secretary Tunku Nashrul Tunku Abaidah and the Sports Writers Association of Malaysia (SAM) Exco Hafizal Hamad and Izhar Atan.

“Brother Farhan delivered a donation from the Prime Minister, which at the same time helped ease our financial burden. Prayers and words of encouragement from brother Farhan and the PMO entourage were greatly appreciated,” he said.
