PETALING JAYA: The fate of Zayn Rayyan Abdul Matiin’s parents, who were remanded to assist in the investigation into the murder of the autistic child involved, will be known tomorrow, whether they will be charged or released on police bail.

Berita Harian reported that the lawyer for the child’s father, Fahmi Abd Moin, said the remand against the husband and wife will not be extended after the 13-day remand ends tomorrow.

“Tomorrow is the last day (Zayn’s parents) will be remanded, the 13th day. Tomorrow is the decision, I believe the investigation papers have reached the Attorney General’s Office (AGC).

“They (AGC) will access and investigate and see and make a decision tomorrow whether to release on police bail or be accused.

“Everyone has to be patient and we wait for tomorrow. Our emphasis, like Malaysians, is that we want the fate of the deceased (Zayn Rayyan) to be defended and given justice,” he said.

Earlier, BH reported that police investigating officers allegedly brought Zayn Rayyan Abdul Matiiin’s mother to the Magistrate’s Court today to request that the woman plead guilty in relation to the case of the murder of the autistic child.

The defense lawyer for the child’s mother, Mahmud Jumaat, was quoted as saying that his party objected to the application made in accordance with Section 26(1) of the Evidence Act.

He said, the client also did not make any confession and the matter was recorded by Magistrate Zhafran Rahim Hamzah.

Meanwhile, Mahmud Jumaat, in line with Fahmi that the couple involved will either be charged or released on police bail will be known tomorrow.

“I ask the public to cooperate. We respect the investigation process and tomorrow we can hear and see the charges made and the results of the investigation,” he said.
