Student Stabbing Case: Lawyer Confirms Suspect Is OKU

BANTING: “My client is autistic. That is all I can say.”

This was according to lawyer from the National Legal Aid Foundation (YBGK), S Vijeswari Devi, when informing that the female suspect in the student stabbing case at a school here is a person with disabilities (OKU).

Earlier, the 15-year-old suspect was remanded for four days starting Tuesday to assist in investigations into the case.

The remand order was issued by Magistrate Maslinda Selamat at the Telok Datok Court here.

Kuala Langat District Police Chief, Superintendent Mohd Akmalrizal Radzi, when contacted by Sinar Harian, confirmed the four-day remand period and informed that further investigations are still ongoing.

Meanwhile, the Telok Datok Court premises became a focal point for media personnel waiting for the latest developments regarding the case.

A Sinar Harian survey from 8.30 a.m. found that approximately 20 media practitioners were at the location.

However, the suspect, who is also a student at the school, was not seen at the court premises.

Sinar Harian understands that the suspect was brought into the court compound at approximately 8.10 a.m. in a police vehicle before being taken out at around 9 a.m.

In the incident which occurred at approximately 9.30 a.m. on Monday, a 15-year-old Form Three female student was injured after being stabbed in several parts of her body in an incident that shocked the school community.

The victim was then rushed to Banting Hospital for further treatment.

The suspect is believed to have entered the canteen area through a path from the direction of the surau before the incident occurred.

The suspect, who was wearing a black T-shirt, is understood to have not attended school for several months and was undergoing medical treatment.

Selangor Police Chief, Datuk Shazeli Kahar, was reported to have said that the suspect had been detained to assist with further investigations.

The case is being investigated under Section 307 of the Penal Code.
