SEREMBAN: Negeri Sembilan Menteri Besar Aminuddin Harun has called on the people of the state to be ready for a potential state election, warning that ongoing political tensions could trigger polls at any time.
Speaking at a major political rally, Aminuddin said the current internal political turmoil should serve as a lesson for all parties to remain calm and composed, rather than react emotionally.
“We should take what is happening as a lesson and a form of guidance for us to stay patient and not panic,” he said. “At the same time, I urge the people of Negeri Sembilan to be prepared for an election. The dissatisfaction we see today, with statements being issued one after another, shows that we may be forced to face this situation.”
He acknowledged feeling personally affected by recent developments, saying he was “hurt” and “disheartened” by the circumstances.
Aminuddin made the remarks during the Pakatan Harapan (PH) leadership mega ceramah held at Stadium Tunku Abdul Rahman in Paroi, Seremban. Also present were key coalition leaders, including Anthony Loke, Mohamad Sabu, and Saifuddin Nasution Ismail.
Earlier, UMNO Negeri Sembilan announced it would continue supporting the Unity Government but maintained its stance of withdrawing support for the Menteri Besar.
In response, Aminuddin urged the PH state machinery to strengthen its strategies and be fully prepared for any political scenario that may arise.
He stressed that the priority now is to reinforce party unity and resilience rather than be weakened by opposition pressure.
At the same time, he expressed disappointment that political instability is being fueled at a time when global economic challenges are already placing significant strain on the country, warning that such conflicts ultimately do not benefit the rakyat.
