KUALA LUMPUR: Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail today officiated the opening of the new Malaysian Crime Prevention Foundation (MCPF) Kuala Lumpur office at Taman Ikan Emas, Cheras.

Also present were Bandar Tun Razak MP Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, Kuala Lumpur mayor Datuk Seri TPr Fadlun Mak Ujud, Kuala Lumpur police chief Datuk Fadil Marsus, as well as representatives from government agencies and strategic partners. The new office was established through close collaboration with Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL).

In his speech, Saifuddin, who is also MCPF chairman, urged the foundation to continue serving as a strategic platform that brings together the government, security authorities, private sector and communities to strengthen efforts in combating crime.

Meanwhile, MCPF Kuala Lumpur chairman Datuk Azman Haji Abidin said the opening of the office, held in conjunction with the foundation’s 33rd anniversary, symbolises its ongoing commitment to enhancing community safety networks and improving coordination of crime prevention programmes in the capital.

He added that MCPF remains committed to leading crime prevention initiatives through multi-sector collaboration, community empowerment via education and training, and public awareness programmes.

The foundation also works closely with both public and private sectors to achieve its goal of fostering safer and more harmonious communities, particularly in the Federal Territories.

The new office is expected to serve as a catalyst for more awareness initiatives and early intervention programmes aimed at reducing crime rates and improving public safety.
