KUALA LUMPUR, 19 January: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has affirmed that the Royal Decree (Titah Diraja) delivered by Yang di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Ibrahim will be implemented firmly and without compromise by the MADANI Government.
Anwar, who is also finance minister, described the king’s address at the Opening Ceremony of the First Meeting of the Fifth Session of the 15th Parliament today as clear, principled, and decisive.
Speaking to reporters after officiating the ASEAN–Malaysia 2025 Chairmanship Appreciation Ceremony here, the prime minister said the government fully supports and will act on the Agong’s strong stance, particularly on combating corruption.
Earlier, Sultan Ibrahim had called for a large-scale and uncompromising fight against corruption, stressing that no individual should be protected from legal action. His Majesty emphasized that anti-corruption efforts must not focus solely on those who receive bribes but must also include those who offer bribes, intermediaries, and any parties complicit in corrupt practices, all of whom must be investigated and dealt with firmly under the law.
In addition to governance and integrity, Sultan Ibrahim also highlighted national development priorities, decreeing that the 13th Malaysia Plan (RMK13), which begins this year, must focus on the well-being of the people. Key areas identified include education, housing, healthcare, and public transportation.
His Majesty further underscored the importance of continuously strengthening the national education system, describing it as the foundation for nation-building, national identity, and the country’s future.
The Prime Minister reiterated that the MADANI Government is committed to translating the Royal Decree into concrete policies and actions, in line with its agenda of integrity, good governance, and people-centric development.
