Prime Minister Welcomes Brazilian President Lula da Silva with Cultural Showcase at Seri Perdana

 Putrajaya, Oct 25: Following the official welcoming ceremony, Malaysian Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and President of the Federative Republic of Brazil, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, proceeded to the Seri Perdana Complex in Putrajaya for the continuation of their official program.

Upon arrival, President Lula da Silva and his delegation were greeted with a vibrant cultural performance that reflected Malaysia’s rich artistic heritage and diverse traditions, a testament to the nation’s unity and identity.

The event served not only as a symbol of the strong and growing friendship between Malaysia and Brazil but also as an opportunity to highlight Malaysia’s cultural richness on the global stage.

“This occasion goes beyond celebrating bilateral ties. It is also a platform to showcase Malaysia’s unique arts and cultural diversity to the world,” said the Prime Minister.

Anwar noted that the celebration aligns with Malaysia’s role as Chair of ASEAN, underscoring the country’s commitment to promoting the region’s collective voice, identity, and presence internationally.

“As ASEAN Chair, Malaysia is determined to elevate the voice and image of our region globally  through diplomacy, cooperation, and cultural exchange,” he added.

The visit marks a renewed chapter in Malaysia–Brazil relations, focusing on strengthening cooperation in trade, renewable energy, agriculture, and cultural diplomacy.
