KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 8 : Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim will meet several non-governmental organization (NGO) leaders next Tuesday (Oct 13) to discuss detailed strategies for the second wave of humanitarian aid delivery to Gaza through Egypt’s land routes, Sinar Harian reported.

The meeting aims to coordinate Malaysia’s humanitarian efforts with NGOs involved in international relief missions and to identify the most effective ways to channel assistance to the war-torn enclave.

Anwar reaffirmed that the government fully supports all initiatives to aid Palestine’s liberation and break the Israeli blockade at the Rafah crossing.

“I believe strategy and wisdom are crucial. On Friday (Oct 10), the 2026 Budget will be presented  if there are any requests, make them now! Next Tuesday, I will call Sany Araby, Nadir Al-Nuri, and other colleagues to discuss how to break through the Rafah wall,” Anwar said.

He added that after consulting with NGO leaders, he hopes to contact Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi to explore possible routes for aid delivery.

“Hopefully, this path will be easier. Importantly, our message is to support the Palestinian people’s struggle,” he said during his address at the Solidarity Assembly with Gaza: Malaysia Wave, Free Palestine, held at Axiata Arena, Bukit Jalil, on Wednesday (Oct 8).

Earlier, Sinar Harian reported that Sumud Nusantara Command Centre (SNCC) director-general Datuk Dr Sany Araby Abdul Alim had sought the Prime Minister’s approval to initiate a second wave of humanitarian missions after Global Sumud Flotilla (GSF) ships were blocked by Israeli forces last week.

Anwar also stressed that the international community must not remain silent over the oppression faced by Palestinians.

“Alhamdulillah, with the NGOs driving Sumud Nusantara, Malaysia’s name is now respected across the world.

This is a free and independent country, willing to befriend all nations but firm in upholding freedom and justice without fear of anyone,” he said.
