Man Wanted by Singapore’s CNB Arrested After Drugs, Vape Found; Attempts to Bite Police During Struggle
SINGAPORE, Sept 21 (VoM): A 41 year old man wanted by Singapore’s Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB) was arrested on Saturday (Sept 20) after police found suspected controlled drugs, drug paraphernalia, and an e-vaporizer in his possession.
According to the police, officers were alerted at about 11.30am to a man behaving suspiciously along Ubi Avenue 3. Upon arrival, they found the man—who was shirtless and sitting on the road beside his car holding a dog.
When approached, he verbally provided a false identity to the officers. Further checks revealed the substances, an e-vaporizer, and a bank card not bearing his name. His real identity was later established, confirming that he was wanted by the CNB.
During the arrest, the man allegedly resisted, pushing officers and attempting to bite them. Police said necessary force was used to restrain him.
The man was arrested for using criminal force against a public servant, providing false particulars, suspected fraudulent possession of property, and suspected drug-related offenses. The drug-related offenses have been referred to the CNB, while the e-vaporizer case has been referred to the Health Sciences Authority.
Investigations are ongoing.
