Kyiv, Ukraine :  Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said on Friday that Kyiv has intensified discussions with Washington regarding the U.S. proposal to end the ongoing war, following an extensive call with senior American officials.

In an almost hour-long conversation with U.S. Vice President JD Vance and U.S. Secretary of the Army Dan Driscoll, Zelenskyy said the two sides “managed to cover a lot of details of the American side’s proposals for ending the war.” He emphasized that Ukraine is seeking a path forward that is “dignified and truly effective for achieving a lasting peace.”

Speaking on Telegram, Zelenskyy expressed gratitude for Washington’s “attention and willingness to work together with us and our partners,” noting that Ukraine, the United States, and European states have agreed to continue coordination “at the level of national security advisors to make the path to peace truly doable.”

“Ukraine has always respected and continues to respect U.S. President Donald Trump’s desire to put an end to the bloodshed, and we view every realistic proposal positively,” Zelenskyy added. He also stressed that both sides agreed to maintain constant contact, with teams prepared to work “24/7” on the proposal.

Zelenskyy’s comments come amid ongoing discussions over the contours of the U.S.-drafted plan, as Kyiv continues to insist that any settlement must ensure a sustainable and just peace for Ukraine.
