SEREMBAN, Dec 25 :  Police have confirmed that the main suspect in the murder of Suri Narudin, whose body was found buried inside a bag behind a house in Kampung Batu 4, Pedas, will be formally charged tomorrow.

Negri Sembilan police chief Datuk Alzafny Ahmad said the 51-year-old suspect will be charged under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder at the Tampin Magistrate’s Court.

He added that a second man, aged 41, who was earlier detained in connection with the case, will now serve as a prosecution witness.

In a statement issued on Thursday, Datuk Alzafny urged members of the public to refrain from making speculative remarks that could disrupt ongoing legal proceedings and called for full cooperation with law enforcement authorities.

The grim discovery was made on Dec 18, when a body was found buried in a bag behind an unoccupied house in Kampung Batu 4, Pedas. Initial investigations suggested the remains belonged to a woman reported missing from Ampang, Selangor, since Dec 8.

Following forensic examinations and fingerprint verification with the National Registration Department, police officially identified the victim as 53-year-old Suri Narudin.

Investigations into the case are ongoing as authorities prepare for the suspect’s court appearance.
