UN Praises Saudi Humanitarian Efforts in Gaza During KSrelief Field Visit

The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs has praised humanitarian operations carried out by KSrelief in the Gaza Strip following a field visit to aid distribution sites amid worsening living conditions in the conflict-hit territory.

According to the Saudi Press Agency, an OCHA delegation toured several KSrelief-run facilities in Gaza City on Monday, observing large-scale food distribution and relief efforts supporting displaced and vulnerable Palestinian families.

Officials from the UN body commended the scope and efficiency of Saudi-funded humanitarian operations, highlighting the structured system used to deliver aid across multiple areas of Gaza.

The delegation began its visit at a central KSrelief kitchen that produces approximately 25,000 hot meals daily for families living in displacement camps. Aid workers were seen preparing, packaging and distributing meals in coordination with the Saudi Center for Culture and Heritage.

The visit also included inspections of food basket distribution points, where humanitarian teams are coordinating deliveries to affected families across different parts of the enclave.

The field tour comes shortly after a new KSrelief aid convoy entered Gaza as part of a broader Saudi humanitarian campaign aimed at improving food security and addressing shortages caused by the ongoing conflict.

In recent months, Saudi Arabia has expanded its humanitarian presence in Gaza through KSrelief, focusing on emergency food assistance, water infrastructure and other critical relief services.

In October 2025, KSrelief launched the first phase of a desalination project designed to provide clean drinking water to around 300,000 people in Khan Younis and central Gaza. The initiative has been widely acknowledged by international agencies for improving access to safe water in the region.

Representatives from multiple UN agencies, including the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees, the United Nations Children’s Fund and the United Nations Development Programme, attended the launch and praised its contribution to improving essential services.

The latest OCHA visit highlights increasing coordination between Saudi humanitarian organisations and international relief agencies as aid groups continue to warn of severe shortages of food, water and basic services in Gaza.
