Two men were arrested by police as they try to enter Istana Negara

KUALA LUMPUR: According to Datuk Rusdi Mohd Isa, chief of city police, two individuals were arrested yesterday for attempting to trespass at Istana Negara.He said that in order to allow for more investigation, the two have been placed under four days of detention.

“A Perodua Kembara automobile that attempted to approach Gate 3, Istana Negara, Jalan Sultan Abdul Halim, Kuala Lumpur in order to meet His Majesty the Yang di-Pertuan Agong was halted on May 17, 2024, at approximately 4.40 p.m. by the complainant, a policeman.

The statement read, “A parang was discovered during additional examination of the suspect’s vehicle.”

The 29 and 37 year old residents were detained at the scene, he continued, and they are tested negative for narcotics use.

Datuk Rusdi stated that the case is being examined under Sections 447/511 of the Penal Code and Section 6 (1) of the Explosive Corrosive Substances and Dangerous Weapons Act 1958.

He advised the people not to speculate on the incident or create misinformation.
