Trump Confirms Putin Invited to Join ‘Board of Peace’ for Gaza Reconstruction

WASHINGTON, Jan 20: US President Donald Trump confirmed on Monday that Russian President Vladimir Putin has been invited to join the newly formed Board of Peace, a US-led initiative aimed at overseeing Gaza’s post-conflict reconstruction.

“He’s been invited,” Trump told reporters when asked about Putin’s participation.

Earlier, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov acknowledged the invitation, stating that President Putin received it through diplomatic channels and that Russian officials are reviewing the proposal and coordinating with the US to clarify details.

The Board of Peace, announced by the White House last Friday, is designed to play a central role in implementing the 20-point plan outlined in Trump’s Comprehensive Plan to permanently end Israel’s war in Gaza. Its responsibilities include providing strategic oversight, mobilizing international resources, and ensuring accountability as Gaza transitions from conflict to peace and development.

Alongside the Board of Peace, the US also established the National Committee for the Administration of Gaza (NCAG) to oversee the second phase of the plan, as well as an Executive Board and a Gaza Executive Board to support its work.

The initiative signals an effort to bring international collaboration to Gaza’s recovery, potentially involving major global powers such as Russia in the reconstruction and peacebuilding process.
