There are no recent arrests in the Zayn Rayyan murder case

SETIU: No new arrests have been made in connection with the murder of an autistic child, Zayn Rayyan Abdul Matin, who died as a result of being murdered last December.

Berita Harian reports, Inspector General of Police, Tan Sri Razarudin Husain, said so far, only Zayn Rayyan’s parents have been detained to assist the investigation under Section 302 of the Penal Code.

He said, the community was also asked to give space to his side to carry out the investigation.

“For the police to investigate the arrest of both his parents.

“For now (no other arrests). That’s all,” he said simply when met by reporters after the Closing Ceremony and Prize Presentation of the 2024 Inspector General’s Cup Endurance Horse Championship (Open) at the Terengganu International Endurance Park Lembah Bidong, here.

Earlier, the prize presentation ceremony was completed by Terengganu Chief Minister, Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar.

The media previously reported that the police confirmed that the arrest of both Zayn Rayyan’s parents was related to the child’s murder.

Selangor Police Chief, Datuk Hussein Omar Khan, in a statement said the couple were arrested yesterday and remanded for seven days until June 7.

On December 6, Zayn Rayyan’s body was found in a creek near the Idaman Apartment area, Damansara Damai at 10pm.

The victim’s body was found by a group of residents who carried out a search operation.

The victim was reported missing in his residential area before his body was found lying in the river about 200 meters from his residential block.

The police confirmed that the victim was believed to have been killed following an autopsy finding injuries to the child’s neck and body that were related to criminal acts.
