KUALA LUMPUR: In the Mid-Season Cup (MSC) for Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) in Riyadh, the Selangor Red Giants (SRG) made it to the semifinals.

Yesterday, Fire Flux Esports (FF), a Turkish team, lost to SRG 3-2 in the quarterfinals. SRG is currently unblemished in the entire series.

Every game was played back-to-back, with SRG winning the fifth and ending their remarkable winning run at 104 days in the process.

In the final four, where they will play either Singapore’s NIP Flash or their fellow countrymen Homebois, SRG Filipino coach Michael (Arcadia) Angelo Bocado anticipates that his team would advance stronger.

“I’m not entirely happy with our performance as a coach. We could have finished the series at 3-1, in my opinion. We were playing fairly well in Game 4 until we all of a sudden made some mistakes. Although it’s a part of the game, we can fix it going future. It has to do with self-control. Together, we have confidence. Our mindset is that we can defeat any adversary or hero, but occasionally we become overconfident. “I think our upcoming series will be more sober and disciplined. We must modify and advance.

SRG emerged as the MPL Malaysia winners this year with an undefeated record, securing automatic qualification to the MSC group stage.

SRG was placed in Group B of the MSC and won the group after recording two victories and one tie.

They drew with Indonesia’s Fnatic Onic 1-1, beat Team Falcons of Saudi Arabia 2-0, and were given a 2-0 victory against See You Soon of Cambodia after it was discovered that the latter had broken tournament regulations.

The MSC, which is a part of the eSports World Cup lineup, has a prize money of US$3 million (RM14.1 million).
