Tabung Haji RCI: Abdul Azeez Yet to Declare Assets, One-Month Period Still Ongoing – MACC

PUTRAJAYA: Former Lembaga Tabung Haji (TH) Chairman Datuk Seri Abdul Azeez Abdul Rahim has yet to submit his asset declaration to the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC).

MACC Chief Commissioner Datuk Seri Abdul Halim Aman said the commission had only served the asset declaration notice on Abdul Azeez and his family on Sept 15.

“We only served the notice on Sept 15, and this month is not even over yet. The one-month period given to them to declare their assets has not expired.

“The notice issued to him at the time was under Section 49 of AMLA,” he told a press conference here today.

Previously, Abdul Halim said the notice had also been served on Abdul Azeez’s family members, including his children, in accordance with the relevant legal provisions.

On Sept 9, Abdul Azeez pleaded not guilty in the Kuala Lumpur Sessions Court to one charge of using his position as TH Chairman in connection with an investment worth RM193.5 million in Putrajaya Perdana Berhad.

He was charged under Section 23 of the MACC Act 2009.
