Srikandi KEADILAN Malaysia Urges UMNOSISWA Not to Be Used as “Cheap Political Tool” Amid Global Crisis
KUALA LUMPUR: Srikandi KEADILAN Malaysia has criticised a recent statement by UMNOSISWA on fuel prices, describing it as selective and potentially misleading to the public amid ongoing global economic pressures.
Its chief, Nurhidayah Che Rose, said accusations against Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim for alleged inconsistency were unfounded, stressing that the government continues to maintain fuel subsidies to protect the rakyat.
She described the decision as a difficult but responsible measure taken in the interest of the people, rather than political rhetoric.
At the same time, Nurhidayah expressed appreciation for what she described as the maturity of UMNO’s central leadership, which she said understands the need for collective decision-making within the unity government.

She urged UMNOSISWA to seek clarification from party leaders and UMNO ministers to ensure that any statements issued are aligned with the government’s position, adding that stronger internal communication is needed to avoid public confusion.
“UMNOSISWA should also consider retracting its statement after obtaining a full and accurate understanding of the issue, to ensure public discourse remains mature and fact-based,” she said.
Nurhidayah added that Malaysians deserve complete and accurate information, not narratives that are partial or misleading.
