KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 13 (VoM):Selangor stormed into the FA Cup quarterfinals after dismantling Malaysian University with an emphatic 9-0 victory in the second leg of the Round of 16 at the Petaling Jaya City Council (MBPJ) Stadium.

The result confirmed a massive 12-1 aggregate triumph for the Red Giants, who had already secured a 3-1 win in the first leg on August 16 at the same venue. They will now face Negeri Sembilan in the quarterfinals.

Selangor, under head coach Katsuhito Kinoshi, dominated from the start. Kevin Deeromram opened the scoring in the 12th minute with a header from a Faisal Halim corner before Quentin Cheng doubled the lead in the 21st minute. Chrigor Moraes added the third on the stroke of halftime.

The second half saw a relentless attacking display. Deeromram struck again with a powerful long-range effort in the 48th minute, followed by Alvin Fortes, who made it 5-0 in the 63rd minute. Substitute Zach Clough then netted the sixth after being set up by Moraes in the 70th minute.

Selangor’s onslaught continued as Moraes bagged his second in the 76th minute and completed his hat-trick just three minutes later. The rout was sealed in injury time when Zikri Khalili scored the ninth goal of the night, capping off a memorable evening for last season’s runners-up.

With the aggregate win, Selangor demonstrated their firepower and sent a strong warning to rivals ahead of their quarterfinal clash.
