Selangor Kita Voucher Prioritises Poor Households, Jobless Individuals, JKM-Registered Vulnerable Groups, Single Mothers – State Secretariat
SHAH ALAM : The distribution of the Selangor Kita Voucher assistance, amounting to RM100 per month for six months, prioritises poor families, individuals who have lost their jobs, vulnerable groups registered with the Department of Social Welfare (JKM), as well as single mothers.
The Corporate Division of the Selangor State Secretariat stated in a press release that the state government has not yet opened applications for the Selangor Kita Voucher Programme to the public.
Instead, this assistance programme will be implemented in a targeted manner towards recipient groups that have already been identified based on data and lists provided by relevant agencies.
“Among the groups involved are poor households in the eKasih database, workers who have been laid off, vulnerable groups registered with JKM, as well as single mothers who meet the stipulated eligibility requirements.
“Eligible recipients will receive a short message service (SMS) notification in stages starting from June 23, allowing them to verify their information and submit an application through the Selangor Kita Voucher Portal along with the required supporting documents.
“Therefore, the public is advised to wait for the official announcement from the State Government, which will be made on June 22, before taking any action related to this programme,” it said in a statement today.
According to the Corporate Division of the Selangor State Secretariat, the state government also reminds the public to always be wary of any SMS or messages containing suspicious links.
“The public is also reminded not to click on links received from unverified sources to avoid becoming victims of online scams.
“Any further information regarding the Selangor Kita Voucher Programme will be announced from time to time through the official channels of the Selangor state government,” it said.
Yesterday, Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari informed that a total of 50,000 underprivileged families in the state will receive monthly assistance of RM100 for six months starting June 30 under the Selangor Resilience Strengthening Package Phase 1, which was announced on April 19.
Amirudin said the Selangor Kita Voucher assistance is aimed at cushioning the impact of living costs and inflation following global economic uncertainty.
He said the selection of recipients was made through verification by the Implementation Coordination Unit (ICU) as well as several existing databases such as the Selangor Prosperous Life Assistance Initiative (BINGKAS), eKasih, and others.
