Saudi Arabia expands access and attractions for Malaysian travelers
PUTRAJAYA: Saudi Arabia has introduced new measures to enhance travel for Malaysians at the Saudi Travel Fair, currently underway at IOI Mall, Putrajaya from August 28 to September 1. They now offers an easier e-visa process and has extended Umrah visas to 90 days. Travelers can also apply for their Umrah visas through the Nusuk app, available in Malay, and benefit from a new free 96-hour stopover visa in partnership with national carrier SAUDIA.
Flight connectivity between Malaysia and Saudi Arabia has improved significantly, with weekly flights increasing by 50%. New routes by AirAsia and Malaysia Airlines aim to meet the rising demand for both spiritual and leisure travel.
The Saudi Travel Fair is showcasing the kingdom’s diverse attractions, including historic sites like Al Balad in Jeddah and the innovative teamLab Borderless Museum. The luxurious Red Sea destination, featuring overwater and beach villas from renowned brands such as Six Senses and St. Regis, is also highlighted.
