The Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF) set up a “mercy flight” on Thursday morning to take a patient from the Tekek Health Clinic in Pulau Tioman, Rompin, to Kuantan’s Hospital Tunku Ampuan Afzan for immediate care.

To make a statement, the Royal Malaysian Air Force said that Rahim Shadan, 58, was taken from Pulau Tioman to Kuantan Air Base on a No. 10 Squadron EC 725AP plane at 11:26 a.m. because he had serious pneumonia with bronchospasm and pulmonary edema.

“The patient had to be taken to the hospital right away because his condition required high oxygen support.” The ambulance took him to HTAA after he arrived at Kuantan Air Base at 12:38 p.m.

The statement said, “Everyone at RMAF prays that the patient’s treatment goes well and that he fully recovers.”

Even though bad weather happened during the mission, RMAF said the crew did their job safely and effectively.

“This success shows that RMAF officers, staff, and assets are always ready to carry out any mission, even though many Malaysians are still celebrating Hari Raya,” the RMAF said. The Bernama
