SHAH ALAM: The Raja Muda of Selangor, Tengku Amir Shah, officiated at the National Integrity Convention (KIN) 2026, held in conjunction with National Integrity Month at the Shah Alam City Council Convention Centre here today.

His Royal Highness, representing the Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah, was welcomed upon arrival by Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Shamsul Azri Abu Bakar and Selangor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari.

Also present at the ceremony were Selangor State Secretary Datuk Dr Ahmad Fadzli Ahmad Tajuddin and Malaysian National News Agency (Bernama) Chief Executive Officer Datin Paduka Nur-ul Afida Kamaludin.

In his address to His Royal Highness, Shamsul Azri called on civil servants to uphold the principles of justice and compassion through governance based on integrity.

He said this could be achieved by preventing abuse of power, managing public resources prudently and ensuring the delivery of fair, efficient and compassionate public services.

Shamsul Azri said this was in line with Sultan Sharafuddin’s royal address at the opening of the 13th Selangor State Legislative Assembly sitting last March, in which His Royal Highness emphasised that integrity, when properly embraced and practised, would contribute to development and ultimately benefit the people.

“Every civil servant must always be mindful that behind every policy, decision and administrative action lies the trust and expectations of the people, which must be safeguarded,” he said.

At the same ceremony, Tengku Amir also launched a book titled Kepimpinan Sultan Selangor dalam Integriti, Tatakelola dan Kesejahteraan Negeri: Daulat Tuanku (The Sultan of Selangor’s Leadership in Integrity, Governance and State Well-being: Daulat Tuanku), published by the Malaysian Institute of Integrity (IIM).

The book presents analyses of the Sultan of Selangor’s royal speeches and messages from 2002 to 2026, highlighting principles of trustworthy leadership, governance with integrity, unity and the well-being of the people.

In a statement, IIM said the book not only documents His Royal Highness’s thoughts and perspectives but also highlights leadership values that can serve as guidance for organisational leaders, civil servants and society in strengthening a culture of integrity and responsibility towards the trust placed in them.
