Prime Minister announced the awarding of RM100 book vouchers to students from Year 4 until IPT

KUALA LUMPUR: The Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim announced the awarding of book vouchers worth RM100 to primary school students from Year 4, secondary school students and higher education institutions (IPT).

FMT reported that Anwar, who announced it when officiating the Kuala Lumpur International Book Fair, said the vouchers can be claimed from tomorrow afternoon, the mechanism of which will be announced by Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek.

Anwar however said the government will provide a guide on the list of books that can be purchased using the voucher.

“The government can continue with (giving) the RM100 voucher and for this year, we start from (students) Year 4 and above to reduce the pressure on the government’s finances.

“We will provide guidance (types) of books including classic novels (such as) Hang Tuah saga, novels by leading writers and so on,” he said.
