PM’s Elder Brother Idrus Ibrahim Dies

KUALA LUMPUR: Idrus Ibrahim, the elder brother of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, died today.

Anwar said in a Facebook post that while on his way back to Malaysia, he received the heartbreaking news that his brother, Idrus Ibrahim, had passed away.

“It is difficult for me to express this sense of loss when someone with whom I shared so many memories throughout my life is now gone. Only Allah SWT knows how heavy my heart is in accepting this reality.

“I deeply regret that I was unable to be by his side during his final moments, but I accept Allah’s will, even as my heart is still trying to come to terms with a separation that we are never truly prepared to face,” he said.

The Prime Minister expressed his gratitude for all the memories and kindness his brother had left behind, saying they would remain forever etched in his memory and heart.

“I ask my friends to offer their prayers for the late Idrus Ibrahim. May Allah SWT forgive his shortcomings, shower His mercy upon his soul and place him among His faithful and righteous servants.
