KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim invites Muslims to live the message of simplicity that is taught in the Hajj in order to always be humble and not be mesmerized by the attraction of temporary worldly luxury.

Berita Harian reports, in today’s Hari Raya Aidiladha 1445H message, he said that Hajj has its own spiritual purpose, aiming to change the human soul to be more ascetic and simple.

According to the Prime Minister, the opportunity to travel to Makkah to perform Hajj is one of God’s greatest blessings to His servants.

“We remember the pilgrimage as one of the Pillars of Islam. When wearing ihram with plain white clothes, we are brought up with the values of cleanliness and simplicity. All luxurious clothing and badges of honor should be abandoned.

“Similarly, wuquf in Arafah, a gigantic gathering regardless of status, rank and rank, sheds a sense of repentance and humility in front of Azza wa Jalla. This is the pillar of Hajj’s unmatched strength, reflected through appreciation and practice.

“Based on this advice, I invite Muslims to live the message of simplicity that is taught in the Hajj to always be humble and not be mesmerized by the attraction of the world’s temporary luxury. Let us not be diverted from the goal,” he said.

The Prime Minister also reminded that the world should become a bridge to the ‘eternal state’ and when celebrating the joy of Aidiladha with the family, don’t forget the brothers and sisters in the city and the countryside.

“Share God’s favor with them and make them happy by performing sacrificial worship,” he said and quoted the hadith of al-Bayhaqi’s narration about the words of the Prophet SAW related to human relationships.

The words of the Prophet SAW: “Indeed, one of the deeds that Allah likes the most is putting joy in the heart of a believer, that is, freeing him from sadness or settling a debt he has incurred, or feeding him when he is hungry”.

The Prime Minister concluded his message by praying that the pilgrims who are now in the Holy Land have a successful Hajj and hopefully return to their homeland in peace.
