KUALA LUMPUR: The Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN) carried out 163 inspections of essential goods for the celebration of Hari Raya Aidiladha, petrol and diesel supplies in the capital.

According to Sinar Harian, the director of the Kuala Lumpur KPDN, Ariffin Samsudin, said that the inspection was carried out over two days last Saturday and Sunday.

“A total of 15 business premises around the Chow Kit market were inspected in relation to the supply of raw materials, the price of goods and the use of weighing equipment due to the fact that the location is a focal point for consumers around Kuala Lumpur to obtain supplies of raw materials ahead of the Hari Raya Aidiladha celebration.

“The inspection carried out is to ensure that the price of raw materials is not increased at will, in addition to ensuring that there is sufficient supply to meet the high demand,” he said in a statement on Monday.

He said, the inspection found that the supply was sufficient, the price tags were clearly displayed, while the weighing and measuring devices were still valid.

He said, traders are also advised to always comply with the legislation that is in force.
