PM Anwar Receives AFAZ Kencana Sport Motorcycle, Marks Strategic Boost for Local Automotive Industry

KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 15: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim today received the Motosikal Nasional AFAZ Kencana Sport, a product of strategic collaboration between local and international automotive partners under the government’s Automotive Manufacturing 2 (AM-2) policy.

The initiative aims to create more employment opportunities, strengthen local engineering expertise, and stimulate high-value industrial supply chains within Malaysia.

“This initiative reflects confidence in the capabilities of our local talent and the government’s ongoing efforts to build a stronger, competitive, and sustainable economy,” the Prime Minister said.

He added that the MADANI government is committed to advancing Malaysia’s motorcycle industry, making it more resilient, globally competitive, and future-ready, while leveraging local capabilities, international collaboration, and national aspirations.
