KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim today chaired a special meeting of Menteri Besar and chief ministers to comprehensively assess the impact of the global energy crisis בעקבות ongoing conflicts in West Asia.
In a statement shared on Facebook, Anwar said the meeting adopted a data-driven and realistic approach to ensure that state and federal leaders act in a coordinated, aligned, and fact-based manner in addressing the evolving situation.
He emphasized that unity between the federal government and state administrations remains a key pillar in navigating the crisis.
“The spirit of togetherness between the federal and state governments remains fundamental, and I am confident Malaysia will stay strong, resilient, and capable of protecting its people under any circumstances,” he said.
The Prime Minister noted that the government has initiated detailed and comprehensive scenario planning to prepare for multiple possibilities, including ensuring that the country’s energy supply remains stable and uninterrupted.
He reiterated that the MADANI government’s priorities remain firm: maintaining supply stability, managing inflationary pressures, and protecting the public from the direct impact of global disruptions.
“Every step is taken with full responsibility and careful consideration, with a clear priority on safeguarding the welfare of the people through targeted and effective support initiatives,” he added.
At the same time, Anwar highlighted the importance of strengthening strategic engagement with all stakeholders, including industry players and small and medium enterprises (SMEs), to ensure that responses are holistic, balanced, and impactful.
The high-level meeting also served as a crucial platform to align federal and state strategies in addressing the challenges posed by the global energy landscape, reinforcing Malaysia’s commitment to resilience and proactive governance amid ongoing uncertainties.
