KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysian immigration authorities have dismantled a suspected visa fraud syndicate involving the use of counterfeit Malaysia My Second Home (MM2H) stickers, with 14 Chinese nationals and one Malaysian man detained in a series of enforcement operations.

Immigration director-general Datuk Zakaria Shaaban said the arrests were made following intelligence-led operations conducted on April 1, targeting individuals believed to be involved in document forgery and immigration pass abuse.

In the first case, three Chinese nationals one man and two women aged between 25 and 54 were detained for allegedly using fake immigration passes as supporting documents in applications for United States visas. Authorities seized three Chinese passports bearing MM2H stickers suspected to be falsified.

Zakaria revealed that the arrests were linked to an earlier crackdown on Oct 8, 2025, which saw six Chinese nationals and two local men apprehended for similar offences.

“Investigations indicate that the syndicate was supplying counterfeit long-term immigration passes for up to RM10,000 each. These documents were intended to strengthen visa applications to the United States,” he said in a statement.

The three suspects have been remanded at the Putrajaya Immigration Depot under Section 51(5)(b) of the Immigration Act 1959/63. They are currently being investigated under multiple laws, including the Immigration Act 1959/63, the Passport Act 1966, and the Immigration Regulations 1963.

In a separate operation, immigration enforcement teams detained 11 more Chinese nationals for abusing social visit and employment passes in Selangor and Kuala Lumpur.

Raids conducted on March 31 at four retail outlets and restaurants in Dengkil led to the arrest of five individuals found operating businesses and working without valid permits. All had reportedly entered Malaysia as tourists.

Another raid in Kepong resulted in the arrest of six Chinese women who were working as masseuses without proper work authorization. A Malaysian man, believed to be their employer, was also detained.

Zakaria подчеркed that the Immigration Department will continue to intensify enforcement actions against illegal activities involving misuse of passes and fraudulent documentation, warning that strict action will be taken against both foreign nationals and local collaborators.

The department reiterated its commitment to safeguarding the integrity of Malaysia’s immigration system and preventing its misuse for illegal cross-border activities.
