JOHOR BARU: Passengers traveling on the Electric Train Service (ETS) from Kuala Lumpur to Johor Baru on Sunday (Feb 1) were pleasantly surprised when Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim joined the journey.

The Prime Minister took advantage of the Thaipusam and Federal Territory Day public holiday to travel to the southern state while personally inspecting the train service’s operations.

“I also took the opportunity to interact with passengers and hear their feedback about the service directly,” Anwar said in a Facebook post. “The response was very encouraging, especially regarding the comfort and overall travel experience, which is now smoother and more systematic.”

During the trip, passengers were seen taking photos and shaking hands with the Prime Minister, highlighting a rare and interactive encounter.

Anwar emphasized that the government remains committed to prioritizing improvements in the public transport sector to ensure more efficient and comfortable travel for Malaysians.
