TIANJIN: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, accompanied by his wife, Datuk Seri Dr. Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, attended a gala dinner and cultural performance hosted by Chinese President Xi Jinping at the Meijiang Convention Centre here, in conjunction with the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Summit.

Anwar expressed appreciation for President Xi’s congratulatory remarks on Malaysia’s National Day, delivered in the presence of dozens of world leaders during the event.
On the sidelines of the dinner, the prime minister also held informal discussions with several counterparts from India, Türkiye, Pakistan, Vietnam, Cambodia, Maldives, and Nepal, focusing on the development of bilateral cooperation.
“God willing, the SCO Summit tomorrow will serve as an important platform to strengthen regional collaboration and to elevate Malaysia’s voice on the international stage,” Anwar said.
