SEPANG, Oct 2 : A total of 201 participants from the Global Sumud Flotilla (GSF) mission are believed to have been detained by the Israeli military after the interception of several humanitarian vessels en route to Gaza.
The Sumud Nusantara Command Centre (SNCC) confirmed that 14 of the 44 vessels involved in the humanitarian mission were intercepted, including ships carrying 12 Malaysian volunteers.
The vessels intercepted include the Sirius, Alma, Huga, Grande Blu, and Hio, which were carrying seven Malaysian men and five women. Other intercepted vessels were named Adara, Spectre, Deir Yassin Mali, Yulara, Aurora, Otaria, Morgana, Seulle, and Mohammad Bhar.
As of 10:44 AM Malaysian time, SNCC Director-General Datuk Dr. Sani Araby Abdul Alim confirmed the detention and released the names of the Malaysians aboard the flotilla:

The GSF is a multinational humanitarian effort comprising 44 vessels and nearly 500 participants. The flotilla departed from Spain last month, with the objective of delivering aid to Gaza and breaking the Israeli blockade of the Palestinian territory.
The mission comes amid warnings from the United Nations about worsening humanitarian conditions in Gaza, including famine and restricted access to medical supplies and food.
Dr. Sani Araby called for international intervention and urged Israeli authorities to release the detained participants immediately, emphasizing that the mission was peaceful and humanitarian in nature.
Authorities and families of the detained Malaysians are closely monitoring the situation, and further updates are expected as diplomatic efforts intensify.
