JELEBU: Barisan Nasional (BN) candidate for the Pertang State Legislative Assembly (DUN) seat, Datuk Seri Jalaluddin Alias, arrived at the Putra National School (SK) polling centre in Simpang Durian here at 8.44 am.
Jalaluddin, who is also the Chairman of the UMNO Negeri Sembilan Liaison Body, was accompanied by his wife, Datin Seri Maziah Mohd. Nor, to fulfil their voting responsibility in the 16th Negeri Sembilan State Election (PRN).
Jalaluddin, who is also the incumbent for the Pertang DUN seat, is being challenged by Pakatan Harapan (PH) candidate Mohd. Umry Abdul Khois and Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) candidate Mohd. Faizal Fadli Mohd. Idrus.
In the 2023 state election, he won the Pertang seat with a majority of 2,790 votes after obtaining 5,634 votes to defeat Perikatan Nasional (PN) candidate Amiruddin Hassan, who received 2,844 votes.
He previously held the Pertang DUN seat from 2013 to 2018 before returning to contest and winning the seat again in the 2023 state election.
