Nora Danish and Nedim get divorced after seven years of marriage
KUALA LUMPUR: Actress Nora Danish and businessman Mohamad Nedim Nazri’s seven-year marriage have officially ended.
Following Nedim’s talak pronouncement in the Federal Territories Syariah Court on Wednesday, June 19, Syariah Judge Abdul Fattah Datuk Kamarudin issued the divorce judgement.
Nedim assured reporters outside the courtroom that he will keep his connection with his ex-wife positive and that they will continue to raise their kids together.
In an Instagram post, he further clarified that his relationship with Nora remains unchanged despite their divorce.
Not a single thing has altered. Simply said, she is no longer mine in the eyes of Islam.
The 41-year-old stated, “Believe that she will come back to me if she is mine.”
As the divorce was decided upon amicably by both sides, Nora has asked the public to stop speculating about it.
The 42-year-old expressed, “I hope there won’t be theories about our separation as we prioritise the harmony of both families and our children.”
Conflicting views have been a source of stress in Nora and Nedim’s marriage, as the couple has been living apart for three months, as she disclosed earlier in April.
At the time, she stated that divorce would only be a “last resort” and that they were working to keep their marriage intact.
After getting married on March 30, 2017, Nora and Nedim have a six-year-old son.
