KUALA SELANGOR: Former Chairman of the Selangor UMNO Liaison Body, Tan Sri Noh Omar confirmed his participation as a member of Bersatu with immediate effect.

According to Kosmo Online, the former Member of Parliament for Tanjong Karang said the application was made online without anyone knowing, yesterday.

Noh explained that the decision was made following disappointment with the fate of former Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Najib Razak who did not successfully challenge the Addendum Order in court.

“I am very saddened by the fate of ‘Bosku’ and yesterday his side failed to challenge the order to serve the remainder of his prison sentence at home,” he said.

Commenting further, Noh said, he previously met Najib several times in court who told him to be patient and not join any political party.

“I respect his views as a big-hearted leader. When brought to court, he did not use UMNO and was willing to resign as party president to face his case personally.

“However, this (court’s) decision was predicted to happen and the fate that befell him is very disappointing to me. Therefore, I decided to join Bersatu.

“I see that UMNO is now like living and dying, not wanting to and running too far away from the original struggle. My soul is still UMNO, not UMDAP. I chose Bersatu to continue fighting in politics,” he said.
